As Toronto’s very first, and best HYROX affiliate gym, we've crafted the ultimate preparation experience for your HYROX training and racing.
Whether you're a seasoned athlete or new to the HYROX event, our HYROX coaches, community, programming, classes and HYROX Open Gym will prepare you for the intense and exhilarating HYROX Race.
The HYROX race is a fitness event that combines functional strength and endurance challenges. Participants tackle a series of eight different workout stations, each representing a specific functional movement, sandwiched with eight, 1km runs. From rowing to sled pushes, burpees to wall balls, the HYROX Race tests your strength, agility, and stamina.
Our meticulously designed classes will prepare you for the HYROX race. Whether you're seasoned or new, our inclusive programs cater to individuals and doubles of all fitness levels.
HYROX OPEN GYM
Unique to the Toronto area, we offer all-day, every-day HYROX Open Gym sessions.
Over 100 athletes have successfully trained and raced using SMASHBOX Open Gym for their prep. Parking is also available and can be prebooked.
As part of Open Gym, you have access to our HYROX equipment, a full selection of: Ski-Ergs, Sleds, Turf, Rowers, Kettle Bells, Sandbags, Wall Balls and Treadmills. We have everything you need to fully prepare for your HYROX race.
Where possible, it is recommended that you train outside of class hours, although Open Gym doesn't require membership, priority is given to existing members.

HYROX CLASSES OVERVIEW.
Although all our classes offer benefits for everyone, there are somewhat different focusses within each.
HYROX FOUNDATIONAL - MONDAYS - 5:30 PM
The interval-based format of this format allows for athletes of all skill levels to train side by side in the same program. includes elements of strength and power, muscular endurance, aerobic and lactic threshold, skills, and agility. As such, it aims to create a well-rounded, balanced fitness regime, ensures every participant gains a comprehensive workout regimen that addresses every aspect of physical health and fitness, covering the basics.
HYROX ENGINE
WEDNESDAYS - 6:30PM
Focus is on developing endurance in a variety of manners, ranging from aerobic capacity to lactate threshold to muscular endurance and stamina to speed. Athletes will become faster runners, increase their work rate, and improve their ability on machines. It includes a greater number of repetitions and increased distances on specific machines. This class also integrates Functional Threshold Power (FTP) training, aerobic endurance exercises, and compromised running along with speed drills.
HYROX POWER
SATURDAYS - 11:00AM
A comprehensive functional strength workout that focuses specifically on developing strength in all forms possible. It's centered more on traditional strength training rather than skills and aerobic fitness. The program includes a variety of workout formats such as AMRAPS (As Many Reps As Possible), Strength intervals, EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute), Partner Workouts, 'You Go I Go' sessions, and volume training.
HYROX COMP
SUNDAYS - 11:00AM
Modified race simulations, longer form workouts, efficiencies, transitions & skills-sharpening are a focus of Sunday classes.
HYROX Personal Training
These are privately booked Personal Training sessions, can be ideal for those just starting HYROX, or for competitive athletes looking to refine and sharpen specific skills, strategies and efficiencies
